  1. That’s great! The only other feature this app needs is a way to control the volume for the plucked and the slap sound. The slap sound is much too loud compared to the plucked sound which is very soft.

One of the most expressive instrument for the ipad.

  2. MIDI seemed to work well with Sunrizer but I couldn’t get it to work with Electric Piano Synthesizer for some reason. I have to agree though about the volume difference between plucked and slapped sounds. It would be nice to edit some sort of velocity-amplitude curve. I’d also like to be able to make my own pad layouts. Those criticisms aside, Orphion is absolutely one of my favorite apps and I appreciate the update.

  3. works great with thumbjam drums!!!! add some animoog on top, super expressive easy and intuitive almost organic and looks great with a avi output on the projector. Imagine orpihion on a prjector behind u, ihave plugged into resolume yet but hoping for great cosmic visuals. Finally midi has made this a great live midi tool, no more stupid virtual faders and step sequencers!!!!

  4. I was waiting for MIDI to pull the trigger on this one and I’m glad the wait wasn’t long, Orphion is good fun.

I’ll echo the criticism that the slap sounds are significantly louder than the others. Apparently I need to upgrade to the new iPad, as I can’t keep Animoog running in the background on my iPad 1, but it’s working well with Sunrizer, Modrum, and others (although sometimes I need to turn off pitch bend and legato to get usable output).

Agreed! This app really surprised me with how wonderful it is to play. It’s become one of my favorites, and the ability to trigger other synths is going to be great.
