    1. “Padshop Pro is an enhanced version of Steinberg’s VST granular synthesizer and is designed to ‘fit the requirements of professional sound designers and skilled creatives’.”

      1. Yeah, read that, thanks captain obvious. What does “fit the requirements of professional sound designers and skilled creatives” mean?

    2. Good question!

I checked on their site and found some additional info that addresses the differences:

I’ve added this to the post.

  1. A little under impressed.

Don’t get me wrong; the sound doesn’t sound bad at all and the price is very affordable (then again; charging $50,- /and/ E 50,- is a very cheap yet expensive trick). But it just doesn’t quite cut it for me, solely based on what I heard in this demo it seems quite limited.

In the longer run I think you’re better off picking up stuff such as Absynth (Native Instruments) or maybe even Malström (part of Propellerheads Reason).

More expensive, sure, but also more way more extensive it seems.

    1. I’m somewhat with you on this one. I think they will probably do very well with this at $50, but for me personally it seems to land between GrainScience on my iPad and Alchemy/Absynth on my desktop. PadShop sounds like a nice tool at a nice price, but feels like I’ve already got those bases covered. For people without tools like this though, it seems like a pretty fantastic way/price to get into granular.
