The Shruthi-1, ‘A Simple Synth That Rocks’

This video song synth jam is a demo of the Mutable Instruments Shruthi-1, aka the ‘simple synth that rocks’.

The Shruthi-1 is a hybrid digital/analog monosynth. Its hardware design is simple, but offers a wide sonic range.

the Shruthi-1 is available for €140.00 EUR as a kit from the Mutable Instruments site.

  1. wow demo was actually a nice sounding track….and not the digital diarrhea that so much of these sunday synth jam videos are…

  2. oh man i want i want one of these ! sounds good, reasonable price and tasteful demo. aww, the enclosure is an extra 30 euros…still want it especially since the exchange is $1.22 per euro right now this is quite affordable. hopefully the eurozone crisis lasts until i can get my order in, haha. (and that’s what this whole euro “crisis” is really about isn’t it? keeping the euro low to encourage exports, well mission accomplished on this one!)

  3. There’s also the upcoming 6-voice Ambika, which is based on the same technology, has interchangeable voice cards and is gonna be AWESOME! I have two limited edition 4 Pole Mission Shruthis and I love ’em.

  4. Looks like its taken the OS from the Novation KS series of synths? Well, the screen looks identical to m old KS-Rack! Looks cool tho 🙂

    1. No, the OS has been designed from scratch by the designer of this synth. But the UI might have been inspired by the Novation. There are not so many choices with such a small screen and few controls.
By the way, its OS is constantly updated, sometimes on requests by users. And it’s open source. So if you have a specific need, you can just try to modify it. Some users have done it before 🙂
