This is a great sounding synth.
Well worth the price. It works flawlessly.
I grabbed this since I have been eagerly waiting for it. I meant to spend some time with Cassini, which I got yesterday, but got totally sucked into Magellan. I spent about two hours just tweaking and seeing what I could stumble into with it. Really nice. It is powerfull but really intuitive. I can see Magellan, Cassini, Animoog, Sunrizer, and a few others being the “core” iOS synths that you have to have. I find myself actually using these things on tracks all the time. Some are far far better than most AU’s I have (Arturia’s Minimoog and Camel Audio’s Alchemy being the two AU’s that really stand toe to toe with the best of the iOS synths). That is a testament to how good deveolpers are getting at creating amazing instruments for iPad. I can’t wait to see what else comes out since we have great synths, drum machines (iElectribe, DM1… DM1 is brilliant), and strange sound makers (Filtatron, Glitch Machine, etc).
No one ever mentions addictive synyh when talking about the big ones. Well i went back to it after playing around with magellan and it’s still one of my favorites. The ui is def nice in magellan but i think my favs are still addictive, ims and animoog.
I agree, Addictive is probably my favorite synth, along with Animoog, NLog and Sunrizer, I guess I use at least 2 of them on every track I do, Magellan is easily up there with the best of those though, absolutely loving this thing!! The more I play with it the more I love it too..
I also picked up MiniSynth Pro while it was on sale, just because it was cheap, wan’t expecting much because I had read so many bad reviews, turns out that is pretty good too, I am not a big fan of the interface but it has some great sounds in it. Maybe I will give Yonac’s MiniDrumPro a try now, the blurb reads well…………
this is really a well designed, creative synth. the sound is also very good but the creative potential of dual engines and the sequencer is simply amazing. excellent for creative grooves and even synth arrangements. love it. congratulations.
the touchpad keys are awesome. i’m liking this more and more. a little lag on my ipad1 but that’s acceptable for the first version and my old hardware.
