my first thought was “who lugs this stuff in and out?”.. then I thought, “does any pilled up idiot on the floor know how hard this guy’s working?”…. then I thought…”cool”
There aren’t many comments on this – probably because all the people who’d normally be saying “DJs AREN’T MUSICIANS WAHHHHHHHH” have nothing to contribute.
Maybe he’s a musician that DJs. Good on him, anyhow.
What does he actually do? He plays a riff and a sample. I can’t hear and see nothing else. Any examples of how he does it?
Yea, a pretty vague video. Doesn’t really show him utilizing the rig. Bummer.

That mixer is real nice tho. I’ve seen Matt dj before. He does his spacey-disco thing rather well but I think this kind of set-up would be limiting actually if I were operating it. It must take loads of prep time to put a set together with copasetic sounds, samples and records to jam with without always solo’ing.
Very unique and original dj rig and that he can play his moog and its keys well helps it all work. Thumbs up.
this is an absolutely mint setup! fair play to the guy. completely agree with him saying pioneer make the best dj equipment – but involving a moog & custom mixer like that – brilliant! more dj’s should do this!
