  1. I wonder if he’s using Ableton Live. The title says includes Live, but that might refer to a live performance.

The way he’s triggering the samples is not like the default in Live, where sample start/loops are synchronized with the beat. If he is using Live, I find it even more impressive :-p

    1. The synchronization you speak of is “quantization” and its really not that difficult to turn off. Simply select a clip, make sure to have the ‘Launch’ section visible (click the round L icon in the lower left corner of the screen) and from there change the quantization.

By default a clips quantization is set to ‘Global’, but if you set it to ‘None’ then the clip will be triggered the very moment you hit (or click) the launch button.

    2. hes triggering the clips in drum rack (probably used “Slice to New MIDI Track”)…not actual clips in session view…and to get the buttons on the lauchpad to light up in user one 1….you need to create a new midi track…set its input to the drum rack and its output to the Launchpad so when you hit the buttons they light up…

    1. Agreed. It’s great that we have the technology to do this, and that it’s affordable to almost anyone, but I wouldn’t go from here to the bathroom to hear this sort of horrible disco effluence.
