    1. I wonder when they’ll abandon this platform the way they did with KORE. That was so raw, its hard to take NI seriously for a long-term commitment. I like a couple of their synths, but I feel wary of their behavior.

      1. kore was before the trinity was established and i think all of their lineup is here to stay for quite a bit.
there is apparently a gameplan for all of their flagships.

that said – yes kore was unfair and i to reiterate: i doubt i will be updating my komplete anytime soon.
all of their discounting/ crossgrades / pricing policies are blatanty money grabbing imo.

        1. Well I got Komplete 8 crossgrade ( for maschine owners) on sale a month ago for $200. Thats $200 for kontakt, fm8, absynth, massive, reaktor, guitar rig etc. If that’s the sort of money grabbing you’re referring to I wish more companies thought like that.

  1. Its actually pretty cool, and sounds great. I think Maschine is moving steadily into DAW territory and it will be interesting to see how it is expanded from here. I mostly use Maschine as a VST in Live but with updates that bring multicore support, multi-timbral instruments and a better sequencer interface I may start doing whole projects in Maschine standalone.

    1. Machine DAW would rock … even with only UAD plugs, Live starts to stutter soonish … besides it somehow doesn’t sound as phat as the standalone … Opinions?

    2. Not sure what about the new 1.8.1 says DAW to you but to me it CLEARLY says ” Performance Controller ”

I was hoping to see some more improvements to the production capabilities of Maschine However, based on the “features” of the new hardware and software update, clearly NI has a different target audience in mind. A lot of wasted effort if you ask me.

Thats why Im taking another look at an OG player. Akai would never allow their MPC to become a disco ball.

Timestretching with Maschine 1.8 is offline, with no ability to preview.
Not fun at all. Barely functional.

      Its 2012…

I should be able to hold a pad as Im listening and capture directly to that pad, until I release. Then, trim with two buttons and timestretch and pitch correct with those same two buttons. In REALTIME with a locked loop playback, with backtracks or solo.

Someone make this happen for me. For all of us.
