Arturia Spark Updated To v1.5 – Here’s What’s New

Arturia has released v1.5 of Spark Creative Drum Machine.

Here’s what’s new……

New in Arturia Spark Version 1.5:

  • The Tune feature, allowing users to easily compose melodies on the MIDI controller’s hardware drum pads and sequencer step buttons;
  • The sample engine now enables Choke groups, so users can specify samples that will cut each other off when triggered — perfect for emulating a hi-hat ‘choke’, for example (whereby triggering an open-hat sample first, followed immediately by a closed-hat sample will authentically cut off the open-hat prematurely), and also offers creative modes for layering samples (circular, random, stack, threshold);
  • The FX Pad now includes the famed Oberheim SEM V filter featured in Arturia’s Oberheim SEM V soft synth namesake, bringing unique warmth and depth to those still-sought-after synth sweeps.

The video features Mike Hosker, Director of Sound Design at Arturia, showing the new features of SPARK 1.5.

    1. Arturia are one of the best companies for free software updates, all of their software is 64 bit and has loads of new stuff added for free. Spark now has over double the amount of free kits and patterns – NI Maschine charge for every new ‘pack’ – Arturia give them away (I sold Maschine as I much prefer Spark- it has been a slow burner, but everyone who actually uses one seems to love it -old school drum machine rather than an MPC, the hardware is superb, highly recommended )

  1. Guitar center has been selling these at $350 lately, which was not bad even for the previous version. It’s neat that this version also outputs MIDI clock.

  2. When Arturia failed to respond to my emails about updating my Analog Factory Experience, I stopped caring about their releases. What a shame as this looks cool, but I want to work with a company that has good customer care and service.

  3. I wanted this when it first came out – then decided I didn’t need it. Now, this prompted me to reconsider it and I think it’s drum solution I’ve been looking for.

    Funny, same thing happened for me with the Minibrute.

  4. I bought Spark (software only) mostly to have a nice collection of “classics” all in one easy to use spot, and have ended up using it a whole lot more than I expected to. It’s really pretty great software, and the massive amount of free new kits is really generous. Also cool that the software is part of the whole classic bundle now.

  5. I bought my spark cdm used for 350, it has been a pain in the butt trying to get the auth #, i the meantime im using demo mode with controller, this is a fun machine that lends itself well to production, i am running curremtly in a laptok running vista , i could not get my controller to connect in w7, any known fixes?
