  1. Awwh, thanks guys!

By far the weirdest-sounding gift I’ve received. This could actually prove useful. Sometimes what you really need is a weird distortion and this one fits the bill perfectly.

  2. Aren’t you guys forgetting something? 馃槈

This sound effect has been made available for producers, but the DJ’s also get a freebie: 5 Traktor remix sets. No idea how much useful that is, but even so it is part of Native Instruments christmas deal, see here:

Although this offer isn’t as spectacular as previous ones (I still remember with dread how their 50% discount period actually managed to level the entire website, crazy times!) I still think its a very nice thing to do. Don’t forget: companies don’t /have/ to do this, and I doubt that a company as NI really needs any extra goodwill.

Even so; I think its interesting to see how we see a clear new trend evolve here: cooperation. In my surrounding it started with Ableton which started teaming up with Cycling ’74 (“Max for Live”) and later introduced their Partner Instruments (allowing 3rd parties to provide for Live and sell through their webshop), then we suddenly got the Propellerheads with their Rack Extensions and in the mean time (I didn’t keep up due to personal issues) we now have Native Instruments, experts on sound, who are also reaching out and getting 3rd parties (Softtube for example) to help them build and provide new effects.

Makes you wonder what 2013 has in store for us, apart from Live 9. Interesting times.

    1. 2012 has been insane enough with all the new hardware synths, soft synths and iPad stuff – but I think 2013 is going to be even crazier.

We already know that Live 9 will be coming out, Bitwig Studio and a new Moog synth. Audiobus is going to go insane and I’ve heard rumors about some major iPad app announcements, too.

Somebody’s got to introduce a new analog polysynth at NAMM, this year, as much as people have been begging for one around here.

And that’s just the stuff that we pretty much know is going to happen. Should be a good year!

  3. Good to see that they are making real plugins again. I always hated those wrapper plugins/soundpacks they were doing. I don’t want a box in a box in a box. Something psychological.

  4. I know I’m a complete (or should I say komplete? *rimshot*) NI-fanboy, but damn, I think I’ve found my new, favourite distortion-plugin.

  5. Cool plug-in! this thing definitely has a unique sound. Side chaining synths with input from a drum track sounds crazy. Thanks NI!

    1. It’s a completely separate plugin, which NI haven’t done in a while. Not based on Guitar Rig or Reaktor, making it pretty useful to anyone 馃檪

(Well, anyone who needs to distort the heck out of sound.)

  6. Awesome, thanks a lot for notifying us about this.
Looking forward to testing it later today.
I read the comments above : people say it can be side-chained. How great :p

  7. Okno jest otw贸r w ?cianie, drzwi lub pojazd, kt贸ry pozwala
    na przej?cie ?wiat?a, a je?li nie zamkni?te lub zamkni?te, powietrza i d?wi?ku.
Nowoczesne okna s? zwykle szkliwione lub obj?te w niekt贸rych innych materia?贸w przezroczystych lub
p贸?przezroczystych. Windows s? utrzymywane w miejscu przez ramki.

Wiele szybami mo?e otworzy?, aby u?atwi? wentylacj? lub zamkni?te,
    aby wykluczy? niepogody.
    Okna s?owo pochodzi od staronordyckiego
    ‘vindauga’, z “vindr-wiatr” i “auga鈥揺ye”, czyli
wiatr oko. W norweski Nynorsk i islandzki Staronordyjska forma przetrwa?a do dnia dzisiejszego (w j?zyku islandzkim tylko
jako synonim mniej u?ywanych do gluggi), w j?zyku szwedzkim
vind枚ga s?owo pozostaje jako termin otw贸r na dachu chaty,
    a w j?zyku du?skim ‘vindue’ i norweski Bokm氓l ‘vindu’,
bezpo?redni link do “oko” jest stracone, podobnie jak “okno”.
Du?ski (ale nie Bokm氓l) s?owo jest wymawiane do??
    podobnie do okna.
