Behringer Intros U-Phoria USB Audio Interfaces

UMC204 RightAt the 2013 NAMM Show, Behringer introduced four new USB audio interfaces.

U-PHORIA models include UM2, built around BEHRINGER’s XENYX mic preamps and the high-end UM22, UMC202 and UMC204 that feature their MIDAS mic pres.

All U-Phoria USB audio interfaces include +48 V Phantom Power for use with condenser microphones.

The UMC202 (2 x 2) and UMC204 (2 x 4) employ 24-Bit/96 kHz digital converters for encoding and playback of analog audio. Both models include dual mic/line/instrument inputs and an array of controls.

The UMC22 and UM2 offer a single mic input and one instrument input and are designed for recording on the go with a laptop.

All units feature high-speed USB 2.0 interfaces.

Behringer is also offering a recording, editing and podcasting software bundle as a free download with the U-Phoria USB Audio Interfaces.

All U-Phoria Series models provide phones output with Level control and Direct Monitor select, Status, Signal and Clip LEDs. They are powered via the user’s USB port and feature rugged aluminum chassis.

  1. Sigh… My heart goes out to the engineers that have to keep coming up with these. Personally, I’m going to stay in firewire land until TB or something else with an interrupt rather than polling based protocol is cheap and widely available.
