UltraVirus Brings Virus Inspired Sounds To Omnisphere

UltraVirus is a collection of 150 sounds for Spectrasonics Omnisphere, inspired by the Access Virus.

The sound library features 100 new arpeggios, basses, plucks and pads designed to inspire modern dance music production. It also includes 50 presets presets based on the virtual analog oscillators in Omnisphere.

It’s available now for 9.90 euro. The full Omnisphere is required.

  1. I’ve never played with the Virus, mainly due to the fact I have a ‘compact sudio’, and a high maintenance partner! Er….I mean….a partner upon whom I love to lavish expensive gifts!
Phew, got away with that I think. Lol.
Anyhow, I’m interested in knowing whether this is trying to emulate the Virus, or is like, ‘inspired by’ it.

  2. IIRC, all of the synths that Omni uses as a base for patches were sampled from hardware. In fact, the vid mentions as much, saying that the Omni Virus banks were sampled from the Virus Indigo.

  3. Yeah I get that, and thanks a lot for the reply, but I’m more wondering how close Omnisphere can get to sounding like a Virus.

  4. They sampled the Indigo, but they didn’t want to replicate the Virus. they used it as a foundation.
It does not matter if you can get it sounding like a Virus (or even if the Virus has a signature sound). What does matter is if you like what you hear. If you have Omnisphere, €10 is next to nothing 😉
