  1. I’ve only tested it briefly, but so far it’s awesome. Most tuners just show whether you’re in or out of tune at the current time, but this actually shows how you’re sustaining. I play trombone, so it’s really cool to see how well I’m maintaining pitch. I sang into it too and noticed I tend to go flat. Really great so far and very intuitive and simple to use (no buttons all over the place to confuse you).

  2. Hey Murphy, I’m also a trombone player and teacher. FYI, I have these trombone intonation drills (with play-along mp3’s) that are designed to help improve both finding your positions, and listening and making micro-adjustments. They’re free, and they are here. Help yourself…

I’m going to go check out the tuner now.

  3. I tried on Android and on iPad. It’s really good. I’m glad there’s a decent alternative to G-strings.

The metronome is basic but allows allows any number of beats per measure and you can subdivide the beat however you want. It also has a very visible screen flash, and even on my old android (2.3.4) it keeps good time both visually and in the audio. With my device and some of the metronomes available for it, this isn’t always the case.

The only minor issue with it is that when using the saw wave for a reference tone, there is some aliasing in the higher octaves. Hardly a deal-breaker. The price will go up from .99 to 3.99, but I didn’t see when.

  4. CORRECTION: beats per measure is limited to range of 1-16 beats, sub-divisions are limited to 1-8.

Still, that’s pretty flexible for a basic metronome.
