Electro-Harmonix Intros RTG Random Tone Generator

Electro-Harmonix has introduced the RTG Random Tone Generator.

Here’s what they have to say about the Random Tone Generator:

Created by the brilliant designer, Bob Bednarz (a descendant of Copernicus), the RTG Random Tone Generator takes you on a journey of sonic serendipity. Used in solo mode or with other EHX effects, the RTG’s soundscapes capture the beauty of the unexpected.

  1. Could be, or could not, I mean, it could be a joke for all those hardcore guitar fans who say everything is a joke or not a real instrument if they can’t play it *you know who’s guys I mean* But, if it’s a joke, I don’t get it, It’s like a bleeplabs thing, they’ve proved to be worthy of buying if you have the gear to manipulate it or process it.
And if it’s not a joke, I hope it’s cheap as hell so that the hackers can break this shizz up.

  2. What will EH think of next? You would think they would finally be running out ideas with the sheer number of pedals they offer, but they keep on coming.

  3. If there was some way to limit the note range and set the lowest (base) note, I think it would be a lot more viable. I have to admit it does sound neat when coupled with other effects. The ‘glide’ option is pretty cool.

  4. Could be a great trigger/input device for my trogotronic and moogerfooger devices.

Though it does need some rudimentary pitch/gate CV input. It would sound great scrambled with an external S&H signal.

but for under $100… very good. run that through your MS-20 mini.
