Jomox Intros Eurorack Drum Modules

Jomox has announced a new line of analog drum modules in Eurorack format.

The ModBase 09 bass drum modules and Mod.Brane 11 percussion modules are expected to be available in Summer 2013. Additional modules are planned.

Here’s what they have to say about the new Euro analog drum modules:

We want to make the Euro rack products of interest to both live drummer as well as the modular scene. Therefore, there is both a CV / gate control and trigger inputs for drum pad pickups.

For normal use, there is the modular audio output and fixed and routable CV inputs, all of which are accessible via 3.5mm jack sockets. The gate can be as 0 .5 V, 0 to 15 V, inverse or be configured as S-trigger.

Everything is stored and can be retrieved through a click from encoder 128 presets. But for analog modular feeling there are eight input potentiometer, the fine and precise control the main parameters without annoying menu quilting.

E-drummer with multiple modules ModBase create complete e-drum setup, because there is an internal analog bus Jomox Connection with a high-speed digital link. Of each module which is connected to the bus, a Submix effects mix and can be produced.

About this system you do not need the audio outputs of the individual modules use, but it has a programmable bus system that can attach itself to future master, sequencer and mixer modules – which then also have the individual modules under control.

This makes the whole system centrally stored and retrieved, similar to a full drum machine.

It is hard to imagine a live drummer, the front of each song on the buttons of a purely analog system module must only set the sound 😉

To keep the ModBase products compatible with our other products, they have a MIDI port, the wiring in the rear of the rack and can be cascaded from module to module.

The menu selection is performed with two-color LEDs to display the various screens.

  1. This is very interesting and comes to fill a gap in euro drum modules.
However it seems a little bit too wide.
Interested to see this bus system….
