Wave Alchemy Debuts Synth Drums Library

Synth_DrumsWave Alchemy has announced the release of its new Synth Drums drum library. Synth Drums combines “expertly programmed” vintage synthesizers with high-end processing to create a flexible electronic drum sample library for modern music production.

Synth Drums contains nearly 6,000 unique drum samples and percussive hits, each created on a sound-by-sound basis.

Synths used include:

  • Roland Jupiter 8
  • Roland System-100 (101, 102, 104)
  • Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 Rev 2
  • Sequential Circuits Pro One
  • Korg MS-20
  • ARP Odyssey MK1
  • Moog Minimoog Model D
  • Oberheim OB8
  • Roland Juno 106
  • Roland SH-09

The library has been designed for maximum flexibility — both processed and un-processed versions of each sound are provided, along with a special selection of drum sounds which have been ‘bounced’ thorough special processes to add character, warmth and tone using Vinyl and Reel-to-Reel 1/4-inch tape with multiple saturation levels.

The pack also contains more than one hundred “ready-to-play” drum kits in different sampler formats which include Reason NN-XT, Kong, Halion, SFZ, Native Instruments Battery 3 and Kontakt.

Pricing and availability: Wave Alchemy’s Synth Drums library retails for £54.95 (around $85.00 US). The product is already available, and can be purchased directly from Wave Alchemy, or through its international distribution partners at Loopmasters.

    1. i can say that it is far quicker to browse this exceptionally well laid out library than to synthesise your own. How can i say that? well i synthesised most of the sounds in the library and it took me 8 months.

  1. It would not, seeing that mastering the samples still takes quite a bit of time.

Plus – do you have all that gear lying around? I don’t.

  2. Thanks for letting us know about the Synth Drums samples library. 6000 is a lot but is a good price at $85. The one hundred “ready-to-play” drum kits is intriguing and that alone is worth the price. I am definitely going to look into this a little more and see if it is a good fit for me.

Do you have any favorite samples from this library?
