Native Instruments recently released Monark – a new virtual instrument inspired by the Moog Minimoog.
Can Native Instruments match the classic analog sound of the classic Minimoog? And does the world need another Minimoog emulation?

I really want to like Monark but I cant… I simply cant explain it. Its a nice vst but something about it just doesn’t click with me :\
I totally love the sound of this synth, and think the missing part is that it just begs to be knob twiddled, not poked at with a mouse. The attention to sonic detail is impeccable in Monark, but hands-on control is essential for something with such basic and intuitive parameters.
just load it up in maschine and it gets mapped like that.
i agree that there maybe is a something lacking in all of the vst emulations. still a tad too perfect. but just put this one through a some outboard or even choice vst effect and you should be there. not that i use lot of plugins or outboard. my main problem with vsts nowadays is the cpu hit not the sound quality.
Too bad you have to load Reaktor to play Monark.
i was hoping to see head to head comparison with the mini like they did with the imini app.
and complaining about the 99 price was odd to me. does not seem pricey to me at all.
Its superficially ok, like all soft synths, but like all soft synths something missing, some kind of ooommpphh, a sense of space, balls, grit, i mean its nice sounding but just a surface, lisen to a real moog and you;ll know what i mean…..
Have you tried Diva yet?
But the real Moog will be out of tune.
Yet another NI cock up, pass….
