Division 6 has announced a new module for Eurorack synthesizers , Mr. Crotchety, that does what it damn well pleases.
Here’s how they explain it:
At its heart, Mr. Crotchety is a random voltage generator. …only it’s not really random. This module has moods. I’d love to explain how to use it, but during development it’s become increasingly clear that it is just going to do whatever it wants.
Controls? Ha! Mr. Crotchety was having none of that nonsense, so we ended up removing them all. If you mess with it enough you can alter its disposition to some extent, which does make for some interesting live performances, but mostly you can forget about it.
This module is useful wherever you need a touch of uncertainty and cantankerousness.
Specifications:
- Power supply: +/- 12 VDC (reverse-polarity protected!)
- Power draw: Whatever it feels like drawing

- Depth: Your face

Division 6 says that Mr. Crotchety is “coming November 1, 2013. Probably.” Pricing is TBA.
