  1. That was a pleasant surprise. There was no glitchiness, and only a little granular moment. I’m interested in what the rest of the album sounds like. I’ll have to go on to another computer that can play Soundcloud later to hear more. And BT is quite aware of XTC you can better believe.

    1. This just sounds like your run-of-the-mill “deep” EDM track. If you told me Calvin Harris made it, I’d believe you. The other recent track I heard from him was some Skrillex-ish brostep thing. I remember when BT was pushing boundaries with his sound design and composition. Totally disappointed. Bring back the glitch, I say.

  2. BT is a fantastic composer, technologist and performer, but his lyrics are generally an annoying distraction.

If you want to hear some great stuff, listen to This Binary Universe, which is basically all instrumental.

But most of his albums bury a couple of nice instrumentals, like this one, under a bunch of banal pop songs. Sorry BT, but I’m going for the singles in iTunes!

    1. And are you saying you don’t like the songs that Brian sings on, or all the songs of his that feature vocalists?Because going back to the debut CD, there have been vocalists. And yes, sometimes the lyrics are “banal.” It’s called dance music. What exactly where you looking for?

And what you do mean by burying the instrumentals? According to his site, this is the lead-off track!

      1. Dance music lyrics don’t have to be banal – they can be uplifting, hypnotic, rousing or sexy. And a few BT tacks rise up to that level, like ‘Dreaming’.

But too often BT’s lyrics are just not up to his music – like “My head is in your hands’ – did his lover decapitate him or something?

If you like his songs, great, buy his album. But his best work has been his soundtracks and instrumentals…..
