The Magnetist is a short documentary about Micke, aka ‘The Magnetist’, whose life revolves around cassette tapes.

The documentary explores the interest – and obsession – that drives his work.

Most of Micke’s time is spent on varius tape-related projects; he blogs about them, he makes music with them and he got a monthly tape club in his hometown Stockholm. Sometimes it’s a struggle. Here we get an insight to Micke’s life as a tapeologist and joins him to his tape-only club to find out the motivation behind his interest.

      1. He is real. The website had to be taken down due to copyright issues. He is considering what to do next on the web, but I think his tape club still rolls on.

  1. This doco is great, but it’s not real. The scene where the sound guy puts the magnet in the tapes is quite clearly staged. And the two blokes in the yellow rain gear plus the girl are acting. It’s very well done but its fake. Try finding the guys website, or even his surname. It doesn’t exist.
