  1. yeah but this MPC works without any computer, Maschine not….
    so it’s not “akai R.I.P” but 50/50 with maschine….it’s a user choice !

    1. LOL, you should really try to get yourself educated about these products before to even comment about them.

The MPC Software for MPC Renaissance and MPC Studio does not work without computer.
They are just controllers, just like NI Maschine, Arturia Spark, etc…

        1. @jackpot67 @x
yes akai’s mpc ren only works with a computer… sheesh? are you a fanboi of akai that doesn’t even know about the product your a fanboi of? madness!! lol

        2. Can’t you read English?

_Software_ doesn’t work without computer (pretty obvious, right?). and MPC Renaissance or MPC Studio are just _controllers_. Therefor, MPC Renaissance or MPC Studios don’t work without computer.

Who cares if the controller does work without computer? It’s just a controller and would still not produce any sound without computer…

  2. ELEKTRON ROCKS… Akai needs a better software. This MPC is really good for live acts, the soundcard it’s a bomb. Personally, I have both and they are good in the day-by-day but, Elektron has a better path mixing new technology, amazing sequencers and analog sound in hardware machines. Laptops are boring…They kept simple but wicked! The Octatrack is amazing… the New analog Rytm is just showing the way for a New MPC.
It’s ridiculous that you MUST have a Laptop… should be optional as you should be able to work without a computer… it’s ridiculous how the MPC used to be safe and now it’s just a buggy software…
