Caught them live in Collegeville PA back in October, and I thought their stage set-up was gonna be slimmed down… I was very wrong. It was identical to this show’s and honestly, was a truly amazing experience. One thing I really liked about it was that having seats further from the stage could actually be rewarding, as many of the effects aren’t the same when you’re right under the stage. They require distance for the effect to be fully appreciated.
Not to mention the lineup is CRAZY GOOD. Rubin and Palladino make up one of the best rhythm sections I’ve seen in a long, long time.
Trent is still a bad ass.
I saw NIN play at the first ever Lalapalooza (in Colorado). They were mind blowing, but they had to cut their set short because the heat of the sun was making their synths go haywire. At the end, when things got really screwed, one of the keyboardists too two cups of water and poured them over all his synths!
