Virtual ANS – an app that lets you manipulate sounds with graphical tools – and Beats Metronome are featured in the latest episode of Sweetwater’s iOS Update.
In this episode, host Mitch Gallagher tries out a unique synthesizer app by Alexander Zolotovm, Virtual ANS. He also tries out the Beats Metronome app, a flexible metronome app.
Virtual ANS is a software simulator of the unique Russian synthesizer ANS – photoelectronic microtonal/spectral musical instrument created by Russian engineer Evgeny Murzin from 1938 to 1958. The instrument was used by Stanislav Kreichi, Alfred Schnittke, Edison Denisov, Sofia Gubaidulina, Edward Artemiev and other Soviet composers. You can hear the sound of the ANS in Andrei Tarkovsky’s movies Solaris, The Mirror and Stalker.

it is important to note this also runs identically on android, as well as other OS options. every app by that developer is total gold.
Agreed!! Another way to look at this app is that it is a pretty full features spectral editor/player. I don’t know if it will work for any kind of critical audio restoration, but it would be cool to make real recordings more unreal.
Okay for the price, but severely limited in comparison to Metasynth
