Noxious Additive Wave Synthesizer Updated

Zvork has released a new version of Noxious Additive Wave Synthesizer for the Propellerhead Software Rack Extension platform.

Description:

Noxious is a polyphonic additive synthesizer. Additive synthesis consists of adding tens, hundreds or thousands of individual sinusoidal oscillators to create complex waveforms or sounds. In theory, additive synthesis is able to recreate any sound imaginable but is usually a challenge to manipulate.

Noxious takes an intermediate route to additive synthesis by offering a limited mean of manipulating these sinusoidal oscillators, called partials, through ‘modifiers’ and classical filters.

Noxious version 1.5 adds a number of new functionalities and patches as well as introduces some major performance enhancements, including:

  • True stereo width
  • Waveform variations
  • Standard serial or parallel filter mode with filter mix
  • Vowel filter

Here’s a set of videos demoing Noxious:

Noxious is available for 72 Euro / US 89$ or free for licensed owners of previous versions on the Propellerhead Software Shop.

  1. I really like the way you can manipulate the overtones & tunings in logical ways in realtime. Some additives will let you morph between static settings, but this seems to have some nice muscle-power for real-time timber-mangling.
