Mark Verbos Intros The New Verbos Electronics Eurorack Modules

At the 2014 NAMM Show, Mark Verbos introduced a new line of Verbos Electronics Eurorack synth modules.

In part one of the demo, above, Electronic Musician’s Gino Robair talks with Verbos and gets an overview and audio demo of the new modules.

In part two of the demo, Verbos covers the rest of the modules:

  1. The complex oscillator alone is more powerful than most synths. So glad he brought the Buchla style world to Eurorack. I hope other manufacturers catch on, because after I get the Foundation 3 and some TipTop Modules, I plan on filling some Pittsburgh Move cases with these monsters.

      1. I like make noise. The Rene in white is something I have to get someday. Hands down the prettiest module they’ve made. I’m also looking at the echophon but I’m just want a simple delay so I think I’ll go for the PM analog delay for now. Also looking at the tiptop zdsp module because halls of Valhalla are making a reverb chip for it!
I live an hour from the make noise factory so must tour it soon. Also the moog one again 🙂

  2. @oopfoo I guess they’re interesting and strange sounds, but you and I have very different interpretations of ‘musical’ if that soundcloud clip of 13.5 minutes of whale farts and blips is anything to go by… No offence intended – just not my cup of tea.

    1. It’s not supposed to be. It’s merely some interesting sounds created with the modules. If you heard something in there that might be useful in a song, then I did my job.

My point is merely to underscore the usefulness of the modules. If I had buried them under a pile of other instruments, effects and mastering, then you really would have a hard time deciding if you liked the modules themselves, as your decision would be based largely on my composition and production abilities.

      Thanks for listening. 🙂

  3. This system is like getting a used Buchla at half the price, with better features.

I think the reason why all these videos are fart sounds, bleeps, etc… is because of the west coast philosophy. These modules are ide ranged and offer more than just the standard x0x step sequencing or western scales. It’s up to the user to make all the decisions with this type of system. Very open ended.
