How To Use iPad Effects In Your DAW

This video, via HoldernessMedia, takes a look at how to use iPad audio effect apps in Ableton Live and Logic

The video demonstrates how to integrate iPad effects apps, including Echo Pad and Swoopster, in your productions, using the iConnectMidi2+ with Audio passThru. Audio passThru lets you route audio and MIDI to and from the iPad with a single cable.

If you’ve tried this, let us know what apps you’ve used and how it works for you!

  1. Does anyone know if this can be made to work with Windows? Or does it run into the limitations of ASIO? Thanks!

  2. I want an iConnectMIDI4+ right now! I’m sure the wait will be worth it, but this is so annoying!

Here’s a device that fill most of your needs and other other stuff you didn’t know you needed, while being just a tad more expensive than the dumb 4 din ports midi merger you were intending to buy!!!
    Shut-up and take my money!

From what I’ve read on their facebook, as of January 2014, the ICM4+ boards are nearly done manufacturing and the product should be available soonish. No hard ETA, as expected.

  3. does anyone know if Moog Filtatron can work like this?
I’ve been trying all morning to get it to take the audio in but it doesn’t seem to work

    1. i think it should work in theory. i always forget to increase the “line” level on filatron – that’s how you route audio through it on audiobus, you’ll probably have to do the same with this
