Sinevibes Intros Octagon ‘Insanely Fun’ Spectral Effect For Mac

Octagon

Sinevibes has introduced Octagon – a new effect for OS X that they describe as ‘insanely fun’:

This is an insanely fun spectral effect that can do reversed delays, create complex echo rhythms, and model alien reverb chambers.

Octagon splits the audio into eight frequency bands, each having its own dedicated delay line. Delay time, feedback, pan, playback direction and other parameters can be set individually per band, allowing to selectively apply delay effects onto different parts of the sound spectrum. For even further animation, Octagon has three tempo-synchronised modulators with a myriad of waveforms and modulation destinations.

Just like all of our products, Octagon features an extremely elegant, beautiful user interface with colour-coded elements. Thanks to the clean layout and optimised contrast, there is little time needed to tap into its full creative potential. Fast, smooth response and subtle animations make using Octagon a pure joy.

Specifications:

  • Eight tempo-synchronised delay lines with normal and reverse playback.
  • Eight resonant band-pass filters at -12 or -24 dB/octave.
  • Three tempo-synchronised modulators with 8 waveforms, adjustable chaos, 24 total modulation destinations.
  • Compatibility

Here are audio demos of Octagon in action::

Octagon works with Logic, GarageBand, Live, ReNoise, Reaper, Studio One, Digital Performer and other software that supports Audio Unit effect plugins. It comes in 32/64 bit format for Intel Macs running OS X 10.6 or later, and supports Retina screen resolution.

Octagon is available for $39 at the Sinevibes site.
