  • Place guide notes in any track including the melody or bass lines
  • Force chords to have certain degrees or inversions
  • Choose from five different harmonic styles: Baroque, Contemporary, Smooth, Free, And Open
  • Non-harmonic tones such as passing notes or suspension notes
  • Built in multi-touch keyboards in both chromatic layout and harmonic
  • Supports the use of accidentals
  • Supports simple and compound meters
  • Supports major and minor keys
  • Displays harmonic rhythm

  1. This demo/intro gave a nice overview of how the app works for kidz, hobbiests & beginners. I think that app will be educational, fascinating and even fun for lots of folks.

I’d be curious to see what kinds of features are there for more adventurous composition techniques– custom scales? custom chords? interesting meters? etc.

    1. I am one of the co-developers of HarmonyWiz. The app supports diatonic harmony: major and minor keys. Custom meters are also supported e.g.: 5/8, 7/8, and so on. Custom scales and chords are a great idea however they are not support in this initial release.

  2. Hi, there are many advanced features for experienced musicians: you can select any major or minor key, different arrange styles. With the select tool, you can edit the note types and change the meaning in the arrangement , an harmony note will produce a chord, while passing and suspension types will give you different results in the arrangement. The select tool allows you also to copy and paste the same phrase and then arrange it in another style! You can record with an harmonic keyboard or use a standard chromatic key to add accidentals. If you want more control, you can select expert mode and you can edit the arrangement tracks as well. In the expert mode you can tap on the chord representation in the arrange track to force chord attributes: chord degree, type ( triad, seven, add two, add four…). If you have a camera kit you can plug any USB keyboard to rec …

  3. Two essential ipad music apps: Harmony Wizz and Korg Gadget, oh, let’s not forget Sunvox also.

Harmonywiz is quite stunning. The most amazing app I have seen in the realm of musical sketch-pads.

  4. Too bad it’s a Jordan Rudeness app…the king of spawned and abandoned apps. Don’t expect an update until 2017, and at that it’ll be a minor bug fix.
