      1. #HB i know you can load your own sounds
i am not saying it is a bad app
it is very useful with custom samples
even for the type of music i do

i was referring to the fact that most people
will just install the app and use the pre-sets and think they are making music

my example was the girl in the video @ 0 :24

    1. Yep, it looks like there is no way to load custom sounds or laid custom sets created on the iPad. Maybe not a #fail, but definitely a #miss!

  1. Remember when different things were actual things, and not disembodied illusions that run on consumer-grade telecommunication equipment in a hilariously accelerated product lifecycle?
The Launchpad was a handy matrix of backlit buttons so you could differentiate your computer-based performance from some IT guy working on a spreadsheet. To turn that hardware into pixels might be a cheap way to harvest cash from 20-year-olds but it’s along way from the original Launchpad’s already paper thin mission.
    Repent!

    1. If I could downvote my own post, I would. The app is free and I’m just mad that I fried my iPad with a glass of iced coffee. This was 3 years ago, but the trauma is fresh.

      1. Yeah it can be tough but you have to let it go, man! The hardware Launchpad was and is pretty bad ass and semi-revolutionary piece of kit (born of the Consumer Age, I equate revolution with affordable plastic products). But that’s as far as it goes, it’s not like the terms “Novation” and “Launchpad” have any kind of integrity or anything! Expect the worst from corporate branding and marketing, and you shall rarely be disappointed! “Disembodied illusions”? That’s for our children’s children’s children squared cubed, when they’re still living with Mt Everest-sized mounds of accumulated plastic courtesy of their stupid ancestors, “the Plastic People” lol.
How long will it take all our beloved plastics and composites to biodegrade? A thousand years, a million? Who the fuck knows (you’re welcome, children of the future!)

  2. I just wish this app would send or recieve midi clock. That would do it for me. I love the app because it’s much more reliable than a computer for a simple loop triggering gig, but I hate that I can’t use it with my arpeggiators and external sequeners such as the Aira.

Novation, add midi sync and it’s perfect! f
