Dave Smith Instruments Pro 2 Synthesizer Overview & Demo

Here’s another look at the new Dave Smith Instruments Pro 2 synthesizer, via SweetwaterSound.

Carson Day from Dave Smith Instruments demonstrates the Pro 2, digging into the synth architecture, the sequencer, the control voltage capabilities and more.

The Pro 2 shares many design features with the Prophet 12, but offers enhanced synthesis capabilities, including dual analog filter architecture, a deep step sequencer, superwaves, digital bucket-brigade delay, and more.

The DSI Pro 2 has a street price of about $2,000. See the DSI site for details.

  1. I am definitely going to pick one of these up. The P’12 is a major tour-de-force and this guy will go perfectly with my modular synth.

  2. I wish they would announce a super deal, offering both this and the P12 module for reduced price.

And I wish you could program the module with this.

  3. Is this guy Justin from American idol? He got so sloppy looking…you’d think Dave would pay him a little more. And, I swear he called this the ‘FRO 2’. All seriousness aside, when the old man played that pad I almost jizzed all over meself! That sound! And I bet he wouldn’t even have to stroke the keys that hard to get that sound either!

  4. Honestly, I don’t get DSI’s pricing policy here. This monosynth is more expensive than an 8-voice Prophet 8 and almost as costly as the P12?!?

  5. Beautiful synth, lot of great feature. Maybe one of the most complete new mono/para synth. But unfortunately all of this or have a price, and it’s a bit expensive for a mono/para.
Let the richest buy and maybe in a few months, we can find used at a more affordable price 😉
