New Interface Translates Brainwaves Into MIDI & CV Synth Control

This video, via Davide Mancini, is a technical introduction to the new soundmachines BI1brainterface – a new brainwave to musical equipment interface.

The module has analog outputs (related to Meditation, Attention, 8 EEG bands and the RAW EEG signal) and 1 GATE signal (with a variable threshold). It will be programmable by the user (MIDI channel, cc, etc..) via a USB/serial cable.

Details are to come. The brain-synthesizer interface is expected to be available in September.

it does not even have a lcd display .?

  1. It would be interesting to hear the musical response to the brainwaves generated when finding out how this thing works. More like Ornette Coleman than Terry Riley, I suspect. :->
