In this video, synth designer Ken MacBeth discusses the Voltage Controlled Filter in the new MacBeth Elements Synthesizer.
The first part of the video is a short discussion about his process in designing the new filter. ‘Speed on further into the vid if the technical stuff gets boring!” he notes. “I try here to give a overview of how things were done!”
The MacBeth Elements Synthesizer is a new analog synth, designed with a ‘no compromise in sound and build quality philosophy’, according to MacBeth. It is priced at about US $5,000. It’s available for pre-order via several retailers, including Schneidersladen and Analog Haven.
See our previous MacBeth Elements Synthesizer posts for more info on the synth and it’s development.
Just awaiting the endless list of post complaining about the price tag!
Let me be the first.
$5000 worth of burps, bloops, and random squelches. Fascinating.
we have plenty of cheaply built “affordable” synths.
glad to see someone is making quality products with ‘no compromise in sound and build quality philosophy’
Lovely looking and sounding machine. Undoubtedly worth every penny.
MacBeth is the man! Where’s his scotch and cigarette this time, though?
It sounds so nice. Yes there are other synth filters, but this one does sound a bit special
this is the guy who is able do something like a modern Synthi.. it would be pretty cool, he should get on that
