Daniel Davis – Afraid to Dream of Tangerines

Sunday Synth JamDaniel Davis‘s Afraid to Dream of Tangerines isn’t afraid to venture deep into Berlin School territory, exploring hypnotic sequences, mellow pads and spatial effects.

“The most amazing thing to me,” notes Davis, “is that if I wanted to make this kind of music back when TD was still vital and fresh, it would have taken me an entire room full of hardware, and tens of thousands of dollars of equipment. Now, we can make music like this with three small keyboards, and a fraction of the cost. That’s pretty cool.”

Here’s what he has to say about the session:

Elektron Analog Keys, Nord Lead 3 & Novation Ultranova

Another live jam/mix. I was going to end it about 6 minutes earlier, but I got in the mood to keep it going so I just started fiddling with the NL3 and improvising with the Ultranova.

I really don’t want to go to work tomorrow, so I can stay up all night and jam. I’m really loving this configuration of synths. Probably the best I’ve ever worked with.
