Universal Audio Debuts Thunderbolt Satellite DSP Accelerators

UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt DSP Accelerators enable Thunderbolt-equipped Mac users to run larger mixes filled with DSP-intensive plug-ins. These “desktop-friendly” units provide full access to UAD Powered Plug-Ins, including exclusive plug-ins from Studer, Ampex, Lexicon, Neve, Manley, SSL, and more.

UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt Key Features

  • Run UAD Powered Plug-Ins via Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 connection on Macs for improved performance at higher sample rates, and reduced plug-in latency versus FireWire
  • 4 (QUAD) or 8 (OCTO) SHARC processors provide a “massive” DSP boost for running large professional mixes

  1. Anyone interested in a DSP system should also take a look at Sonic Core’s Xite-1!
    It comes with 18 Sharc DSP and the Scope software which is an entire studio environment including full blown consoles, synths and MIDI and audio processors. And you can route everything to anything just like in a real studio.
    There are tons of free plug-ins, too! See scopeportal.com for just some examples.
