Hans Zimmer Explains His Huge EDM Following

In this interview excerpt, Hans Zimmer explains his popularity with EDM producers and the power of mixing traditional and electronic instruments.

“The weird thing is all the DJs and all the electronic guys sort of think I’m still relevant,” says Zimmer, “because I am part of that world, and I can talk oscillators and filters and frequency shifters.”

“If you look at something like Dark Knight or Inception, the thing that pins you to the back of your seat is a beautiful Moog synthesizer, designed by Bob Moog in 1964 or something,” adds Zimmer. “It’s a beast.”

  1. On Facebook, this came up as “In this interview excerpt, Hans Zimmer explains his popularity with ED…”

    Made my night laughing.

  2. So sick of this guy. How about letting Jon Brion or Nathan Larson or Mica Levi or any number of talented non-Hollywood musicians/composers score a blockbuster for a change?
