True. But you can’t get a kit so you’d have to source all your own parts. Also, that gets you the polivoks filter/vca but everything else about the shruthi is totally different (don’t get me wrong, they’re great, just not the same thing).

Wow. I’ve been wanting to get into Euroracks. So, correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s everything you’d need to start a Eurorack unit, minus a case, for about $430. Is that the cheapest way to get started?
In regards to getting started it all depends on where you want to go. If it’s a standard mono synth set up I’d advise eowave/doepfer line of modules for price point and the eowave power/midi unit with bus board and just build your own enclosure.
For a mono voice the Pittsburgh Block is only $299 and quite nice sounding.
Add a Happy Ending Kit for 150 and you have even have room to expand.
The Box is $339 and even better.
Has a Low Pass Gate in place of the normal low pass filter.

That’s a pretty amazing deal. All you need is a case and power supply and you’re off. The only alternative I can think of is the Doepfer DIY synth (~120 euro). A couple of those and all the parts to build them out will probably run you about the same. You’d gain a filter and an lfo, but you’d lose the MIDI to CV converter and you’d have to come up with your own panel (probably the trickiest part of the whole diy process – at least that’s what I’ve found).
Is there a manual on the build? Ive done kits before but always have a reference manual with pics and detailed instructions

Is the 20%off offer for full kit still going on? How much would be the full set with the Midi/Cv semi DIY kit? Also, I remember the original pic of the Midi/Cv showing a different feature set module, with selectable 1,2,4 voice poly modes, 4 separate CV and Gate jacks. Is that one an option or was just a prototype, not for sale, mot in production?
OK, last question: if I need some more Polivoks modules,(extra modulator, etc.) will I get those at 20% off too, if I buy at the same time as the full Polivoks DIY kits?
