PUC Lets You Connect Wirelessly To Hardware MIDI Devices

zivix-pucZivix, makers of the PUC wireless MIDI interface, have update their PUC Connect app for iOS. The update adds support for wireless control of hardware MIDI instruments.

The latest version of the free PUC Connect app, for iPad & iPhone, features the ability to send or receive MIDI via the 5 pin DIN port.

WIth this update, you can use the PUC to connect your iPad or iPhone wirelessly to hardware with DIN connectors.

The PUC is a wireless MIDI interface designed specifically for iOS devices. It can also work with any platform that supports a MIDI connection over WiFi.

The PUC communicates directly to the iPad via WiFi directly as a device, no “host” WiFi network is necessary. PUC uses an open standard for Core MIDI over WiFi.

  1. I’d prefer to see multiple ports on this thing, but I can see more and more of these devices are going to pop up over the next couple of years. Feels like a good time to wait it out and see who comes up with the best solutions.

  2. I’ve got one and its really handy. Not only can I wirelessly control my iPad apps from a midi keyboard, I can also wirelessly connect a midi keyboard to my Mac to control softsynths

  3. ¿any info about the latency of the MIDI signal you transmit? I have two MIDAIR transmitter from M-Audio and are very useful for MIDI WindControllers and Keytar controllers.

Is the puc compatible with propellerheads reason I am having trouble setting it wirelessly to a korg keyboard battery operated microkorg with midi under preferences in reason to setup does not show up to trigger midi notes i could only select output to put but theres no signal to select input its blank going thru or even recognize is it compatible or should I return it back or anyone know of another option for reason users.
