Here’s another look at the KOMA Elektronik Komplex Sequencer – introduced at the 2015 NAMM Show.

In the video below, the Komplex Sequencer meets a vintage Roland MC-202 synthesizer and a Korg Volca Beats. The demo starts with a straightforward 16-step sequence, but goes on to mangle it beyond recognition:

Here’s what KOMA has to say about the technical details:

Here, we are controlling a Roland MC-202 with the Komplex Sequencer.

The MC-202 runs through a KOMA ELEKTRONIK BD-101 pedal. The Komplex Sequencer also clocks the Korg Volca Beats.

Sequencer A of the Komplex Sequencer controls the CV/Gate of the MC-202, and Sequencer C CVs the Delay Time of the BD-101. The clocks of all sequencers are patched together.

In the second half of the video, Sequencer B CVs the Sequencer Start Point of Sequencer A, while Sequencer D CVs the Transpose function of Sequencer A. The Sequence Length, Play Mode and Division are changed by hand to further complicate the pattern playing. Feel it!

The Komplex Sequencer will be available at select retailers worldwide in Spring 2015 for an MSRP of $1,500. See the KOMA site for more info.

  1. This demo is slightly better than the NAMM one but could be so much better.

Regardless this piece of hardware has me drooling , saving my pennies and looking for space in studio.
