  1. Elastic Drums is now the best drum synthesis app available. Every “drum” on every pattern can have its own unique sounds and individual automation. Highly intuitive, fun to play and sounds awesome.

  2. +1

With this update it supersedes iElectribe and SeekBeats and sounds just as good if not better!

The workflow is similar in some respects to Elektron’s machines – in a word (or two) – it’s f*cking awesome!!!

Developer is communicative and responsive too – there’s not much not to like!

Highly recommended – worth every penny 🙂

  3. This is a terrific app. Already my favorite drum app for the ipad and better than the desktop drum synth plugins I have, and so much easier to use. I agree it’s better than the electribe app. The only thing about it that I don’t like — and this is so minor — is that on the instrument (main) interface it’s very hard for me to precisely adjust BPM by swiping, it’s too “loose.” I’ve learned if I want to change BPM in whole number increments it’s best to use the buttons on the arrangment screen. I wish there were BPM micro adust buttons here as well.

The automation potential is out of this world good. Inspired by the video above, I’m going to try to use this with midimux, logic and a launchpad controller.

  4. ^ What everyone else said. This app is boss. Sounds great and great fun to use. With variable lengths and clock dividers per instrument, you can get a world of patterns out of a single pattern, if that makes sense. I’d almost like to see a view that had those two knobs for all 6 instruments.

I’d love it if more of the automation could be ‘velocity’ style so you could see and edit it a little easier. And as with every pattern chainer ever, it’s pretty wonderful when you can assign a number of repeats to each step in the chain instead of inserting it N times.
