Using advanced source signal separation technology (a.k.a. demixing, unmixing, sound extraction, sound isolation), UNMIX::DRUMS provides drum level control that ranges from up to +18dB of boost to virtually complete removal.

Applications for UNMIX:DRUMS include:

  • Balancing drums against the rest of a song in mastering.
  • Restoring dynamics to over-limited music in mastering.
  • Unique EQ alternative for mixed music.
  • Suppression of drums in sampled audio to remove “clashing” or “flamming” when
  • mixing with new content.
  • Drum extraction for creating new drum-kits.
  • Drum removal for Mash-Up creation.
“Drum Kill Switch” for Dj applications.
  • Pre-processing for voice extraction or similar applications.

UNMIX::DRUMS supports all common sampling rates from 44.1kHz to 192kHz, mono and stereo, as AAX native, AU, RTAS and VST, on Mac & Windows.

Pricing and availability are to be announced. See the Zynaptiq site for more info.

  1. They have some impressive tools. Seriously impressive.

We used to say, “Sorry, you can’t remove reverb from a mix.”… I guess all that was needed was patience.

    1. There are some demo videos over on their site if you link over there. But nothing on the UNMIX.

The Unveil demo is impressive. It shows some reverb being removed.

The demo lacks what would be a pretty common application, which would be a vocal recorded in a small home-studio type space. I sent a request to have that kind of material shown in some demo.

  2. Is there an iPhone version that you can direct at passing cars? And what other delights follow? UnRap? UnWhine? UnOverProduce? Sign me up!

  3. Boosting Drums sounds more like it – there’s a lot of pre-70s music that was mixed with the drums way back in the mix. It would be amazing to pull those forward to create home-brew remixes. (not remixes in the electronic music sense, but re-mixed.)

    1. take them out and flip the phase in 1 track with a 2nd track playing straight

i disagree about drums needing boosting in any 70s stuff i can think of though, but i can think of a few cheeseball horn, soupy strings 60s records that have legit drums that never get unburied.

  4. I checked there demos online at messe and l’m still not convinced with this software. I noticed when the drums were removed I could still hear them and the bass guitar was weak. The demos were quick as if they didn’t want you to notice. This could just be me or does anyone agree.
