  1. This thing looks fantastic! You could put this at the helm of a modular setup AND/OR a midi setup and run the whole show. Sounds are great, presets, patch bay, options, the price seems totally reasonable.

  2. Nicky B at SonicSlut did a review of this monster and it is a nice synth. The company that makes these is pretty small and finding a dealer that ships to the US is a bit of a challenge/impossible. Here is the video review for those that are interested:

If anyone owns one, I would love to hear your opinion on the bugger. Based on what I have heard so far, I am a fan.

    1. I have owned one. The workmanship was more of a home build kit than Nick let on. It had problems with one of the three oscillators staying in tune. I would go with a Moog or something of higher quality. As far as the presets, they sounded exactly like a Jupiter 6 that is not reading the tape input properly. I was able to do many of the classic sounds on my own though with good results.

  3. Well, the Dominion *is* fantastic. But for a demo of factory presets, it would have been nice to either mention that the reverb/delay effects have been added in the mix or just leave them out. Because, actually, the synth does not have any effects on board.

  4. As an owner of this synth, I’d like to mention that the presets are mediocre. It’s not one of these MFB synths with a cheap build quality. This one is different. It’s heavy (except the ADSR sliders are a bit wiggly). Just have a look at the specs and you see all the possibilities of sound creating that synth offers. 3 very well sounding OSCs and … 4 LP Filters with different dB which can scream a lot. 3 LFOs with a lot of routing possibilities. FM. Arp/Sequencer. And a lot of patching possibilities. This demo shows IMHO more the good sound of this synth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lLT4YguHa8

For 1689 Euro you can get the multi-timbral, polyphonic Virus TI2 desktop which sounds way better IMO. Real analogue suckz, virtual analogue rulez.

    1. As someone who has owned both, Dominion sounds way better. It’s one of the best sounding monosynths I’ve ever laid on my hands on.

    2. i never understand the need for people to rank synths, especially when they are so very different from each other. It’s boring, and it suggests limited creativity, imho. I have a virus. I like it a lot. I’m considering a dominion 1. I like it a lot, too. Each would be more useful than the other in different situations and/or different genres. I hope the troll is well fed.

  6. I like the design and interface, it sounds a bit harsh compared to the DS and Moog instruments but I suppose that might be your thing…

  7. Like others said, this synth is a total bargain if you are into Eurorack especially.

    3 great sounding analog VCO
12 mode KICK ASS analog filter with loads of modulation capabilities
    3 LFOs, 2 ADSR & 1 AD
A great 3 octave keyboard bed
    2 ribbons (with CV out)
Plus all the extra features like 2 RM, FM and Seq/Arp, internal/external patch bay.

Now how much would all that cost in terms of Euro modules?!

Even without going too crazy patching wise just a combination of the internal VCO and Braids going into the on board filter routed out to Erbe Verb modulated with the ADSR is just spectacular.
    I LOVE it.

  8. I can only judge from the demo, but I have a hard time understanding why would anyone pick this over a DS Pro2…except for the modular type patch points. Maybe the demo doesn’t do it justice???

  9. Great synth. But it needs better demos! A complex beast in some ways. I bought a Vermona Perfourmer Mk II instead…What can you do 7-)
