Bianca Froese-Acquaye, widow of Tangerine Dream head Edgar Froese, has announced plans to create TANGAUDIMAX, The Tangerine Dream Sound Museum.

Froese (6 June 1944 – 20 January 2015) was the head and founder of the electronic band Tangerine Dream, from 1967 until his death.

Froese-Acquaye shared this video that offers a preview of some of the design concepts for the TD museum:

“The sound museum will be set up in memory of the unique achievements of Edgar Froese’s electronic band Tangerine Dream,” says Froese-Acquaye.

Specifics on the project are to be announced. A new site has been created to provide information and updates on TANGAUDIMAX.

20% of the sales of TD items via the Eastgate Shop will go toward the TANGAUDIMAX project.

  1. Optic Race, Force Majeure, The Island of Fay, and White Eagle are my personal favorites. Didn’t care for a lot of their other stuff.

  2. I hope they can accomplish their vision but it seems like quite the ambitious project. Getting enough visitors to come and generate enough income to pay for the space sound like it would be difficult in the long term. Most museums that have such a narrow focus fail pretty quick

I’d love to see it though.

  3. Always understood what Edgar was trying to say in his music, i saw the picture he was trying to paint. Aqua, Stratosfear and Epsilon really had a lot to do with two sci-fi stories i wrote. As the art of Dali may have inspired some of Edgar’s compositions, so his compositions inspired most of my writing. To me, he will always be: The Werner Von Braun of Music !
