Waves Audio Now Shipping Element 2.0 Virtual Analog Synth

Waves_Audio_Elements_2-0Waves Audio is now shipping  Element 2.0 – a virtual analog synth for Mac & Windows that they say is perfect for ‘searing leads, gritty basses, lush pads, electro-percussion, sequential motions, mind-blowing FX and lots more’.

Element 2.0 includes five integrated effects, a 16-step sequencer, MIDI learn for all controls, and a massive, fully tweakable preset library.

Here’s a video intro:

  • Filters with zero-delay feedback
  • Effects include delay, reverb, distortion, chorus and two distinct crushers
  • Keep the legacy: choose between Element 1 and Element 2 modes at the click of a button
  • 16-step sequencer with Hold and Retrigger modes that can be used as a modulation source
  • Use as a plugin or as a standalone application

Elements 2.0 is available now for US $71 (normally $119). See the site for demo and upgrade info.

  1. I hope they at least fixed the horrible knob response/inertia in version 1. I always felt like I was wrestling with it, with the values hardly changing with a normal swipe of the mouse, and then jumping in huge steps when you try harder. Mentally exhausting trying to perform a filter sweep or something with it.

Also, the extra feature list isn’t really making it seem like a V2 upgrade. I was/is a great sounding synth with a unique character, so there’s that, but I always hope for more, especially from the oscillator section, these days.

  2. I just wish Waves would make there download process a little more user friendly. It’s just so clunky, and I will not pay for updates unless there are some major changes. I can say I will most likely not buy another product from them.

    1. @SineWolf: I don´t know if you have already tried out Waves Central, but if not, I would suggest to do so.

Waves Central is a huge step forward not only because you can download just the things you want or need, but also because it simplifies activation and general management of your Waves plugins or demos.

      1. The most horrible software ever..
I ve registered trueverb, used it once and i cant use it anymore cause it wavecentral says that i registered it on another computer – and it is not true!

So i wrote to waves and they wrote me back that only solution is to install Teamviewer and let somebody to use my desktop. WTF folks?!

  3. Well i have bought the Element, but yes indeed download is made really difficult, i don’t like the fact you have to install a client before you can get your download. Then there’s another thing, it is VST, but hell, i have Fl Studio 9, yes i have a outdated version, perfect for me. The problem is that Fl doesn’t see the element as a synth but thinks it is a FX, loading in to an mixer channel as FX does work but it ain’t usable to me that way. Asked the support and they say
“Please note that FL-Studio is Officially Supported with Waves’ Version 9 Plug Ins only from Version 12.1 and above. This does not necessarily mean that the Plug Ins won’t work, but just that our software was not designed, nor tested and qualified to run with it. Due to this fact we do not have a knowledge-base of possible problems. The Plug Ins might work fine, but if they don’t we will not be able to assist.
Please refer to the Supported Hosts page for more information” it is a VST, i got synths from Tone2, KORG, and more, all VST, they work, stand alone and as VST, if i had knew that i would never ever bought this synth, not because it is bad but not supporting my FL, why can others do that and they not.
I’m deeply disappointed and i’m not buying fl12 just because of this plugin, normal vst’s work on any host with vst.
