Syncussion SY-1 Percussion Synthesizer (Sneak Preview)

The Human Comparator – creators of the the Two Thousand Six Hundred (TTSH) ARP 2600 clone – have announced a new synth DIY project, the Syncussion SY-1 Percussion Synthesizer.

You can get a sneak preview of the Syncussion SY-1 in the video above. 

  • The Syncussion SY-1 kit is expected to be available Summer 2016.
  • The kit will include PCBs, potentiometers and a steel case.
  • Target price is about US $250.
  • Additional components should be about $100 from Mouser.

  1. I like everything about it except the name SY-1, just because that was a Yamaha synth. Also curious about the mentioned-but-not-shown steel case.

    1. Thanks, y’all, I withdrawal my criticism of THC taking the name from Yamaha. Now I’m surprised Pearl got away with it.

  2. Count me in for 1-2 Units! Are you willing to offer full build Syncussions? In the unit i 1v/oct of tuning like in the original SY-1?

      1. no. correct . .. but does this one have the tune input like the original ?? the original with insert cable plugged in you can tune the sy1 with CV ..

    1. Pretty sure that’s just a CGS Gated Comparator type circuit.

      Pretty stoked for this to come out. Glad I sold one of my syncussions recently.. Noe I can fund 5 new ones 😀
