This video playlist features a series of short demos that explore the capabilities of the massive KOMA Elektronik Komplex Sequencer.

KOMA calls the Komplex Sequencer “a musical monster”. It is built around four full-featured 16-step sequencers that lets you use one or more of the sequencers to sequence the other one.

The Komplex Sequencer has no screen or submenus; all features have their own dedicated controls, and all features have their own dedicated in- and outputs on the large 86-point patch bay.

The Komplex Sequencer has an MSRP of $1,500. See the KOMA site for more info.

    1. Well, it also features 1/64 (or 0/64) of visual sequence information thanks to “can’t see where your intervals are” knobs with no pointers, and 1/10 of i/o.

    2. This is really a ridiculous comparison. The BeatStep Pro does not has near the amount of CV options the Komplex has nor a CV recorder. I understand the appeal of the cheaper BeatStep Pro but I’ll take my Komplex over a collection of BeatStep Pros any day

  1. I have the feeling that those sequencer developers are just jerking it off with such “technologies” without adding next to nothing to the actual enjoyability of the music produced with them.

  2. Do you really need a $1500 sequencer to make this cheap crap sequence line? people just don’t know how to work with this machines ..

    1. What exactly is this “machine” you speak of? The Komplex shines because it is hands-on interface not something menu or click driven AND it has a tons of CV control over the running of those sequences. Feel free to show me something that is comparable with 4 independent sequencers, a CV recorder and that much IO.

    1. I’ll agree that most the demos, especially the early ones leave something to be desired but you can generally see the features available.

    1. The Komplex doesn’t make ANY sounds. What it does do, sequence CV (and MIDI), it does fantastically. You’ll have to create the sounds on your own.
