New Software Synth Inspired By Vintage Video Logos

phonec2_medPsychic Modulation has released Phonec 2 – the latest version of a synth that was inspired by ‘the mystique of video logos you hear at the beginning of worn out VHS tapes’.

Phonec 2 is capable of producing a wide range of sounds, such as vintage analogue tones, lo-fi synthscapes, ethereal pads, minimal techno sequences, and synthwave leads and basses.

It’s available for both Mac & Windows.

  1. I want to buy this.. I love the way it sounds, I’m using reason… Kind a bummer, but if there is an RE rack extension port I want it. Great very smooth sound on this plug in!

    1. When it’s offered as an opt-in vs. something you have to put up with, it’s a feature. But yea, I get your “drift”.

  2. Just bought this for the pitch shifter delay, sounds amazing. It’s certainly got its own sound that seems darker and softer, but very organic and alive.

  3. Have had this for about 5 years. It has a heavy Boards of Canada influence, especially in the pre-programmed chord structures. I demoed the new one and it is of slightly higher quality than the original.
