Native Instruments Intros ‘Rising Crescent’ Maschine Expansion

Native Instruments today introduced Rising Crescent , which they are calling “the first Maschine Expansion to explore the sounds and rhythms of the modern orient.”

Rising Crescent pulls from musical cultures in and around the Mediterranean, and combines them with modern bass production techniques. The expansion is aimed at producers of all genres in search of “fresh, non-western flavors” to add to their music.

Native_Instruments_Maschine-Expansion_Rising_Crescent-1Rising Crescent comprises a sample library of expertly recorded instruments from the Aegean, the Balkans, the Middle East, and India. The sample set includes instruments such as the darbuka, daouli, hand drums, micro-percussive cymbals, rare Cretan lutes, and more. Complementing this more traditional sound set are new presets for NI’s renowned Massive, Reaktor Prism, and Maschine Drum Synths, adding the deep low end and synthetic textures contemporary bass music for an exotic new hybrid flavor.

A compact version of Rising Crescent is also available as an iMaschine Expansion, for creating beats on the go. Tracks can be exported to Maschine Studio, Maschine, and Maschine Mikro for completion.

Pricing and Availability. Rising Crescent runs in the MASCHINE 2 software and is available now at the NI Online Shop for $49 / 49 € / £44 / ¥ 6,820 / AU$ 79. The compact version iMaschine expansion is available at the iMaschine in-app store for $0.99 / 0,89 € / £0.79 / ¥ 100 / AU$ 1.29.

  1. Gotta say, this one is by far one of the best and certainly most useful expansions NI has put out for Maschine. Definitely has become one of my favorites in the short time Ive had it.

    1. Comment from a 54 year old,..It may sound like the Fugees to you ..but reminds of the late great Mick Karn. Not the greatest vocalist but Instrumentally , Bass, and style wise way ahead of his time in combining Eastern mediterranean elements into an electro Pop structure. so this is circa 1983-84 Titles.
well done Native Instruments ..I remember trying desperately to get these percussive sounds and effects with a Casio FZ in 1986 and failing miserably to combine Voices from the Bulgarian State Choir with a very bad lopsided haircut. Luckily I now have a Machine Studio, the Casio FZ died BTW. Its always a good idea to listen to music from a warmer climate especially if you want to reduce your heating bills

  2. Very nice compilation. To me it sounds very close to the style of music played by Dead Can Dance which by the way it’s one of my old favorites. 🙂

I’m also a big fan of Native Instruments and although I don’t own Maschine yet, I’ll consider it for the future.
