vezer-midi-tracksImimot has released an updated to Vezér, their timeline-based MIDI/OSC/DMX audiovisual sequencer.

Vezér 1.6 is here offers 15 new features & other enhancements.

Here’s what’s new in Vezér 1.6:

Looping Cues

Vezér 1.6 extends the capabilities of Cues by adding Cue Types and repeat modes, aka Cue Loops. Cue modes are color-coded to help you visually separate them, and they display relevant information like number of loops left.

There are 2 Cue types in Vezér 1.6, Marker Cue and Stop Cue. Both have option to work as a loop, either a number of times or infinitely. The Cue Settings Panel is available by right-clicking or double-clicking on a Cue. Vezér 1.6 also adds a number of new OSC commands to working with Cues, like jumping to or triggering a specific Cue.

14bit MIDI support

Vezér 1.6 adds support for sending and recording of 14-bit MIDI CC messages.

14-bit MIDI is the Continuous Controller feature of the MIDI specification, where any of the first 32 controls (MSB – CC 0-31) can be optionally paired with a control offset 32 higher (LSB – CC 32-63), using them as coarse and fine parameters of a 14-bit value, and this way allow using 16,384 possible values instead of 127.

16bit Art-Net & New Art-Net Channel Settings

Vezér 1.6 adds support for sending 16bit Art-Net values by merging two consecutive DMX channels. This option is available for both Art-Net Color and Value Tracks.

MMC Transport

Vezér 1.6 also adds support for incoming MMC Transport commands. The following commands are currently supported:

  • Play
  • Stop
  • Rewind
  • Record
  • Locate

Other additions include:

  • JSON Keyframe data Import
  • Added option to use 5 fraction digits with OSC Keyframes
  • Enable/Disable Playhead following during Playback
  • Now you can use CMD+Arrow keys to switch between Compositions
  • Now you can use Trackpad Pinch gesture to Zoom In/Out

A single user license is available for US $99.00. Vezér 1.6 is a free update for existing users, but requires at least OS X 10.8. See the Imimot site for details.

  1. Seriously, no link anywhere? How is it that this article talks about software, with no direction as to where to go to find this software?

    1. If only there was some kind of giant database containing the sum of human knowledge and a way that information could be searched for within this giant database. I imagine the interface might look like a keyboard with some kind of screen attached to it so the user could enter text and then read the information that comes back to them. If only someone had the technical knowledge to build such a system. I guess for now we can only dream…
