ContinuuCon – The Continuum Fingerboard Conference

ContinuuCon, the First Continuum Fingerboard Conference, took place June 9–11, 2016 in Asheville, NC.

The event focused on the Haken Audio Continuum – a highly expressive music synthesizer and controller – and featured concerts, workshops, lectures and more. Speakers included: Dr. Lippold Haken, inventor of the Continuum; and Edmund Eagan, developer of the Continuum’s synthesis engine EaganMatrix. And it featured performances by Eagan, Rob Schwimmer, Pallav Pandya, Wayne Kirby and others.

The video above offers an overview of the event.

The video below captures a musical interlude by Indian synthesist Pallav Pandya:

The following video captures a discussion by Continuum creator Lippold Haken. He discusses the development of the Continuum, from the first design goals to the current state:

Author and co-organizer Geary Yelton shared his summary of the event at Emusician.

ContinuuCon was the first of what is planned to be an annual event. See the event site for details.

  1. This was one of the most inspiring musical experiences I’ve had so far, and I’ve had a few. A really great group of people exploring technology and expression. Great stuff.
