New Vocoder For iPad, Vox Unit

vox-unit-vocoder-ipadDeveloper Herve Noury has introduced Vox Unit – a new vocoder for iPad.

Noury says that Vox Unit was optimized to create realistic choir effects. You can also produce soloist voices & strange vocal effects with it.

Vox Unit includes support for MIDI and Inter-App Audio.

Here’s the official video demo:

Note: Use a headphone when you play Vox Unit to avoid feedback.

Vox Unit is available now in the App Store for US $6.99.

  1. The release timing is interesting if not unfortunate: VoxSyn released too with VirSyn’s heavy reputation behind them there’s danger of an eclipse for the Vox Unit app and same price for both.

Would love to see a video where different sounds are fed through the app with different settings to really get a feel for what’s happening as opposed to entirely pre-produced song playback. Vox Unit might be incredible but it’s hard to tell.

    1. Voice synth is excellent but it seems their updates are mostly about dropping support for ways to get sound out of the app. First it was audiobus and recently itunes file transfer. Based on their outbursts during the audiobus debacle, I’ve lost a lot of trust in the firm. I wholeheartedly welcome competition.
