Virsyn Intros Addictive Pro for iPad

Virsyn has introduced Addictive Pro for iPad – a hybrid synth that combines wavetable oscillators with virtual analog filters.

  • Addictive Pro offers a unique form of Wavetable oscillators. These Wavetables are generated from the harmonic content and the free digital filter structure entered by the user.
  • The sound of up to 12 of the Wavetable oscillators is then refined with a virtual analog filter, available in several 24dB and 12dB forms.
  • For the optional noise part of the sound you can use the same sophisticated digital filter structure as for the wavetable oscillators, allowing for a vast variety of ever changing noisescapes.
  • A sound and rhythm randomizer can be applied to different sound aspects separately, for sound design and inspiration.
  • A four part polyrhythm Arpeggiator creates complex rhythmical structures.

    1. there does seam to be some fuzziness, but wonder what it be like if you drop it though some further processing, other synth’s out there are somewhat the same

  1. This looks and sounds excellent. VirSyn has been creating top notch iPad synths for a while now. I have about 7 of them, and love them all. Very deep instruments, yet easy to use. That multi-arp on this new app is amazing and very useful.
But please VirSyn, one request… Please add Bluetooth support to your apps, both MIDI and audio. I have a Bluetooth speaker, and have to hook up a cable to it when using these apps. If this is just user error, please tell me. Thank you! Keep up the awesome work!

  2. Great to see when a synth app simply lists “iPad” as its requirement. Will be picking this up. That arp is just begging for Link support–please consider implementing Link!

  3. Sounds nice, but is pretty much killing my iPad gen 3. I can play one or two notes without crackling, but 4 note chords are pretty much too processor intensive for my old iPad to handle.

  4. It is a great synth with lots of possibilities no doubt but the only problem just like the previous addictive synth is the thin sound. If only the developer could use fatter oscillators or wavetables here. Also i still have doubts about this wavetable thing, is it not just samples in reality. I know there is a big explanation that it is different fro samples and i know the sound can move through the wavetables but i am talking about the wavetable sounds itself, it is just prerecorded samples?? And the programmer of the software synths is just calling them through the programming making us think that these are real oscillators and so on. Can mathematical algorithms, supposedly simulate electronic circuits sound signals??? Is this a real oscillators. anyway.

  5. i wish virsyn had been honest enough to allow all of us who paid for their Addictive Synth to get this “Pro” version as a free upgrade or at least at a special price

but it seems the business model goes like this : you buy X software, then when the software is upgraded you have to buy it again, so after the 10th version, you have bought it 10 times

    good synths
    bad customer policies
